The big question on most peoples lips is how to get smaller and leaner.
Whether overweight or just unhappy with a particular area of their body, most people would like to be a bit lighter and a bit tighter!
So how do you do it?
I’m no expert and I won’t pretend to be. I have learnt from my own experiences and mistakes, and there are some things I wish I’d known earlier.
There are hundreds, probably thousands, of articles online about various weight loss techniques/programmes/diets and many of which you could spend a fortune on. Whether you like it or not there is no easy way to do this or quick fix.
In my opinion, the first trick is to actually decide that you are GOING to do this! If you don’t plan how to reach your goals you’ll be lucky if they happen. Set aside time in your week to work out what you are going to eat and when you are going to exercise, and be prepared to adapt as your body changes.
Do not underestimate how important your nutrition is! This has to be number one! Last year, I spent hours every day training to get stronger and fitter and paid no particular attention to my nutrition and this was a BIG mistake.
Think about it, if you want your body to perform all the exercises your trainer just gave you, or fuel you for the run you’re about to do, you must provide it with something it can use.
Also everybody is different, so forget about what your best mate does, or that really fit chick on Facebook, it doesn’t matter! Spend a bit of time on myfitnesspal and work out your current macros (your carbs/protein/fat) and how may calories you consume daily. If you are overeating by 500 calories a day dropping them all at once probably won’t work well for you! Drop them gradually and increase your intake of nutrient dense foods as opposed to empty calories.
THIS IS SOMETHING YOU HAVE TO WORK OUT FOR YOURSELF!
Take advice from meal plan recipes and instagram but remember to consider your macros over the whole day and not just one meal.
